Bailey Zimmerman Hopes to 'Legalize Tans' for 'Ginger Men': 'They Just Get a Bad Rap for Dudes'

Bailey Zimmerman is taking an unexpected political stand: spray tans for everyone.

Speaking with comedian Heather McMahan on E! Live from the red carpet at the People’s Choice Country Awards in Nashville on Sept. 26, Zimmerman admitted to indulging in an unexpected grooming routine: “Well, I was supposed to go spray tan again, but I didn’t get it because I’m the last one and it was still pretty good.”

“I feel like they’re just getting a bad rap for guys,” Zimmerman continued. “And honestly, who doesn’t want to be tanned? And gingers like me, we have a hard time getting tanned! So that makes me feel better and I’ll stick with ‘we should legalize tanning’.”

Elsewhere on the red carpet, Zimmerman, who has been called “the country’s bad boy,” opened up about his ADHD diagnosis. “It’s a superpower,” Tanner Adell said.

Zimmerman agreed, saying, “The teachers hated me. Now they’re like, ‘Oh Bailey, we love your songs!'”

Zimmerman is in the running for Male Artist of 2024 and Social Country Star of 2024 at the People’s Choice Country Awards tonight.

Zimmerman went viral on TikTok in 2021. His famous break-up song “Rock and a Hard Place” had one of the biggest announcements for a new artist on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart and his debut LP, Religiously. Albumwhich dropped in the spring of 2023 cemented his place on the country music scene.

PCCA 2024 will air live on Thursday, September 26 at 8:00 PM ET/PT on NBC and Peacock from the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville.
