Mr. Sharan Singh then responded to the allegations against him and the federation and asked why the wrestlers had not been around for the past decade, saying:

If this happens, I will hang myself. ”

In April 2023, sources revealed that after multiple hearings, no concrete evidence was found against Brij Bhushan. On April 23, 2023, wrestlers once again staged a protest at Jantar Mantar demanding sexual harassment charges against Brij Bhushan. The wrestlers complained that despite the assurances, their promises were not kept and their demands were not met. On April 25, 2023, seven wrestlers filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking an FIR against Brij Bhushan; the court issued a notice to the Delhi Police asking why an FIR was not filed against Brij Bhushan. On April 28, 2023, the Delhi Police registered two FIRs against Brij Bhushan: one related to charges against a minor wrestler under the POCSO Act and the other on a complaint against a female wrestler. The FIR also named Brij Bhushan’s close aide and federation assistant secretary Vinod Tomar. Reacting to the FIR against him, Brij Bhushan called the protesters Congress puppets and said wrestler Bajrang Punia and Congress leader Deepender Singh Hu Deepender Singh Hooda conspired against him. In addition, Mr. Singer claimed that the Fugate family wanted to control the wrestling federation. As part of the second leg of the wrestlers’ protest, many politicians visited the protest site, including Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, AAP ministers Atishi and Saurabh Bhardwaj and Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi; Pappu Yadav and Satya Pal Malik were also present. On June 25, 2023, the wrestlers announced their decision to stop protesting Brij Bhushan on the streets and fight it out in court.
