He wanted to honor the “skill of America’s pioneering ancestors” and preserve their hard work for future generations. Along with his official website, fans can also hire him for motivational lectures. Bowe also owns an insurance company and previously served on the city council.

In an interview with Greenbrier Valley, Bowe said he intends to improve people’s perception of West Virginia:

“I wanted to challenge the term ‘farmer’. The network wouldn’t let us use it in the first season, but then the truck drivers would deliver to us while proudly posing as farmers. The network is finally up and running. I believe it comes down to strong relationships with family and friends, determination to work hard, and qualities like stamina and courage.”
