BBC Breakfast star Jon Kay shares heartfelt tribute to show following major change

BBC Breakfast star Jon Kay paid a touching tribute to the show’s hard-working team following the format change on Tuesday, when the journalist hosted the show from Langstone Harbor in Hampshire.

On Instagram, Jon shared a series of clips from the episode, which explored the problem of sewage pollution along the coast and in our waterways.

He captioned it: “Incredibly lucky to be working with such a talented, professional and lovely group on #bbcbreakfast.

“This morning’s external broadcast in #Portsmouth was a huge technical and editorial challenge…

“We had to deal with some complex politics and new BBC data on sewage and water pollution – while also making the most of a beautiful sunny morning in #LangstoneHarbour. Too many clever colleagues to name here, but a special shout out to…

“Mandy, our drone camera crew…Elliot, our lighting maestro…And Katie who oversaw the entire production.”

Viewers of the show were quick to praise the program in the comments section, with one person writing: “@jonkay01 really enjoyed it, we were glued before work/school this morning!” while another added: “It was absolute class.”

Although Sally didn’t mention the reason for her absence from Wednesday’s show, it’s possible she was lying after a late night at the National Television Awards on Tuesday.
