The star (45) wrote and starred in the series that followed her character’s life after being released from prison.

She played Miri Matteson, who committed a heinous crime that landed her in a cage for 18 years.

British Comedy Guide first reported the cancellation, and Daisy herself confirmed that it was her decision to end the series.

She told the Out to Lunch podcast: “It’s very sad to kill Back To Life because I love Back To Life. But I think the story is over.

“I have so many things I want to do, I have two or three movie ideas that I’m really excited about.”

The BBC has also confirmed that the show has been pulled from the schedule.

However, there is good news as her comedy drama Boat Story is coming to the Beeb soon.

The second installment of the series is already in development.

Daisy’s second Sky TV show Breeders has come to an end after four series.

She starred alongside Martin Freeman as struggling parents trying to balance their careers with their children.

The news of the cancellation of Back to Life left fans devastated as they flooded social media with reactions.

One said: “Such a fantastic show!”

Another wrote: “Much better to end on a high, even if there’s potential for more. Too many shows can’t resist the lure of another season, only to destroy the vibe that made them popular.”

“My wife and I loved it. That and Breeders are some of our favorite shows. Thanks.”
