Gaby is now set to leave BBC Radio 2 after a short stint
Gaby previously covered shifts on BBC Radio 2’s Breakfast and famously replaced Zoe Ball last summer.
Over the years, Gaby has appeared on several BBC radio shows, often filling in for familiar faces who were absent.
In 2009 she replaced Alan Carr on BBC Radio 2 and is also known for covering Vanessa Feltz and JoAnne Good on BBC Radio London.
In 2010, Gaby replaced JoAnne permanently as co-host of the BBC London 94.9 breakfast show, remaining until January 2013.
Then in January 2013 it got its own weekly show on Saturdays, live from noon to 2pm, and a year later it was moved to an extended Sunday afternoon show.
Gaby has also worked on Virgin Radio in the past when she replaced Chris Evans.
But now the 60-year-old star is taking on a brand new project, preparing to host a brand new show on Magic.
Saturday, January 25 will be Gaby’s first day on the iconic radio brand, and she will host the show from 10am to 1pm.
“I’m so excited to finally share the news that I’m joining the Magic Radio family,” she said, adding, “It’s literally an opportunity not to be missed.”
She continued to rant: “How lucky I am to be able to spend a Saturday morning with Magic Radio’s fantastic listeners – find out how everyone is planning their weekend and spend some time with them at the start of the best two days of the week.”
BBC Radio 6 giant rocked as Lauren Laverne QUIT Breakfast show amid cancer battle and replacement revealed
She also took to Instagram with a joint post with Magic FM, which got Gaby’s fans chatting.
Many of the TV and radio star’s fans rushed to congratulate her, although others questioned whether this really was the end of her BBC Radio 2 journey – with Gaby seemingly ditching her old gig.
One fan asked, “Does this mean there’s no cover on R2 anymore?” to which she replied: “Hope you enjoy listening to @magicfm.”
She then ignored Radio 2 again when another fan asked: “Congratulations. Does this mean you’re not going to be on Radio 2 anymore?” and she replied, “I hope you enjoy the show.”
Other fans were overjoyed at Gaby’s new job, with one writing: “Yay! That’s a great date!! Xx.”
Another then said: “Congrats @gabyroslin! She’s been at the top of her game for over 30 years!”
Fellow radio legend Zoe Ball then said: “Go girl xxxx,” below the post.
Magic Radio Content Director Paul Sylvester said of Gaby joining the team: “Gaby is one of the UK’s top broadcasters and we are delighted to announce today that she is joining the Magic family.
“In addition to our currently much-loved on-air team, with Gok Wan, Nicki Chapman and Mel Giedroyc also joining us in January, 2025 will be an exciting year for the station with much more to come.”
This comes after a major shake-up was announced for BBC Radio 6 after the fan-favourite presenter quit and announced an exciting new project today.
Lauren Laverne announced today that she will be leaving the BBC Radio 6 Music Breakfast Show after six years.
She confirmed on Instagram: “I will be moving to mid-morning and the lovely @maryannehobbs_ will be starting a new show later this spring.
“These transitions are always more emotional than you’d imagine they could be, and for me that’s very much about the incredible crew at Figure 2 – who have made it such a pleasure to host the breakfast show every day for the last six years,” she continued.
