BBMAK Remixes Their Hit 'Back Here' for a Bumble Bee Tuna Commercial: ‘Epitome of Millennial Nostalgia’ (Exclusive)

BBMAK brings back one of its classic songs with a “tuna twist”.

The boy band — made up of Mark Barry, Christian Burns and Stephen McNally — stars in an infectious new music video for Bumble Bee, PEOPLE can exclusively reveal. The video reimagines their popular 1999 hit for the Bumble Bee seafood line. Instead of “back here, baby” the boys sing “Snack Meal, Baby!”

“Combining our hit song ‘Back Here’ with new lyrics for tuna snacks felt like the epitome of millennial nostalgia, and that’s what this partnership is all about,” Burns, 50, tells PEOPLE.

Barry, 45, called the partnership “a match made in heaven” with “BB Snack and BBMAK”.

“We had a great time re-recording ‘Back Here’ and keeping the original tune while adding new lyrics for a tuna-themed meal,” Barry added in a press release.

In the new music video and lyrics — created by Bumble Bee in collaboration with SOCIALDEVIANT — the musical trio craves a protein snack instead of an ex-lover and sings about how much the snack means to them.

They start out on the couch eating some unsatisfying snacks with the words, “No more pizza dough, no more ceramic bowls / I’m craving tuna,” before grabbing a package of Bumble Bee’s tuna bags. They can be seen performing on stage with the new chorus, “’Cause you’re my snack, baby / Mix you, melt you, eat you up.”

“While the basic tuna sandwich we all remember from childhood is still delicious even today, I was surprised to see Bumble Bee reinventing the category with new products like the Applewood Smoke Wild Tuna Bag,” Burns tells PEOPLE. “Talk about taste!”

Additional video vignettes of BBMAK’s new song will also be released in late May and early June, Bumble Bee said.
