We were all ready to take in these lyrics. When Bill found out about these lyrics, he said, “Oh my gosh, can we take a look at it, because it would be a great way to add an extra freshness to the movie. ’ So, yeah, you’re going to hear some unheard Howard Ashman lyrics.”
Fans of the original may remember that “Gaston” is basically a song in which a rather obnoxious Gaston laments his prowess at hunting, eating eggs, and seducing women. It’s a fun, quirky song designed to make the audience instantly aware of why Bella keeps spurring his progress. While the exact nature of these “indecent” lyrics isn’t explained, it sounds like they would certainly enhance the film and provide more substance to Gaston and LeFou’s characters.evans pointed out “for [audience members] I think most people are very familiar with these songs, and you hear some new lines, which is really special. ”
Beyond that, in another rather exciting addition, Condon hints at another Ashman lyric that fits elsewhere in the film: “It ended up being a surprise. I don’t want to reveal this, but we found it to be a really gorgeous lyric.” It’s great that Ashman’s previously unused lyrics were used, and it sounds like his words will only enhance what’s already set up to be a magical film.
