The megastar opened up about her regime in the March/April issue of Essence, which she gracefully covered to celebrate the launch of her hair care brand Cécred.
“For me, it’s all about moisture – adding oil to the scalp and covering my hair at night so the oils can penetrate,” Ms Knowles-Carter, 42, told the outlet, adding: “It brings back great memories of my rituals as a child to keep it healthy scalp.”

Beyoncé also shared that she wraps her hair up at night, sometimes sleeping “in some cute mesh rollers or a beanie,” depending on how she wears her hair.
All of her techniques serve the purpose of trying to “avoid friction, restore hair and use unnecessary heat.”

Beyoncé also opened up Essence about the beauty of self-care and self-expression.
“[Black women] we can wear natural, straight hair, braids, weaves and wigs. There is power in self-expression and in the feeling of freedom to show off however we want, in whatever hairstyle we choose,” she said. “For me, joy comes from making myself and my hair a priority. It’s really important to me to make time for sacred self-care rituals.”
