THE FAMILY of a teenager jailed for the gruesome murder of Brianna Ghey have broken their silence.
Scarlett Jenkinson and Eddie Ratcliffe were just 15 years old when they hatched a horrific plan and stabbed the helpless Brianna 28 times.

The 16-year-old schoolgirl was lured to Linear Park in Warrington in February last year by the sadistic couple – who are now both 16.
Now Scarlett’s family have said their “thoughts are with Brianna and her family”.
In a statement to the Warrington Guardian, they said: “The last 12 months have been beyond our worst nightmares as we have come to realize the brutal truth of Scarlett’s actions.
“We agree with the verdict of the jury, the sentence of the judge and the decision to name the culprits.
“Our lives are in turmoil, but our immediate focus is to make sure we do nothing against the wishes of Brianna’s family.”
They also thanked Brianna’s mother Esther, adding: “We sincerely thank Esther Ghey for her incredible selflessness and empathy towards our family. Her compassion is overwhelming and we are forever grateful.
“To Brianna’s family and friends, our community and everyone else affected by this horror, we offer our sincere apologies.”
Jenkinson and Ratcliffe have now been named by a judge as the pair were jailed for life yesterday for murder.
Previous reporting restrictions meant the killers could only be referred to as girl X and boy Y during the trial.
Jenkinson was left emotionless as she was given a minimum of 22 years, while Ratcliffe stared straight ahead and was told he must spend a minimum of 20 years in prison.

Madam Justice Yip said the killing was “brutal” and “sadistic” and that Brianna’s trans identity was a secondary motive.
The judge added: “Brianna was only 16. She had her whole life ahead of her.
– This case is unusual and shocked the public.
Manchester Crown Court was told that Jenkinson, who had a “deep desire to kill”, admitted for the first time that she had stabbed Brianna herself.
The sadistic killer, who compiled another “kill list” while in safe accommodation, told her lawyers she “snatched” a knife from her accomplice and slashed her “repeatedly”.
It can now be revealed that Jenkinson, whose parents were teachers, was expelled from Culceth High School over a drug incident and then transferred to Brianna’s school.
Meanwhile, Ratcliffe is the son of a trucking company director father and a ski instructor mother.
He previously competed at the 2018 World Amateur Association Kick Boxing Championship in Jamaica.

The intelligent killer passed eight GCSE exams while in custody and has since studied for A levels in physics, biology, chemistry, maths and English literature.
In an emotional victim impact statement, Brianna’s mum Esther said she believed the pair were still a danger to society.
The mum added: “I don’t believe that someone so deranged and obsessed with murder and torture could ever be rehabilitated.
“I have moments where I feel sorry for them, because they ruined their own lives, but I have to remember that they had no empathy for Brianna when they left her to bleed to death after their premeditated and cruel attack, which was carried out. not because Brianna did anything wrong, but because one hated trans people and the other thought it would be fun.”
While Brianna’s dad, Peter Spooner, described her killers as “a couple of monsters” who “need to be forgotten”.
