Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner revealed at a press conference that a high-level investigation into the devastating incident had been ordered. He said,
This is a very, very active investigation and it may take us quite some time to determine exactly what happened. This is now a criminal investigation that will involve our homicide unit as well as our narcotics unit and we will get to the bottom of it. “
Houston Police Chief Troy Fenner claimed to have spoken with Travis Scott before the concert and expressed concerns about the large crowds before the concert. Troy said in its official statement,
