Bhumi Pednekar was born on 18 July 1989 in Mumbai (34 years old; as of 2023). She studied at Arya Vidya Mandir School in Mumbai and went on to complete her graduation from the Institute of Communication and Media Arts, Mumbai. However, Pednekar was expelled from the college due to poor attendance. Next, she enrolled in Mumbai University to pursue Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.). Bhumi wanted to be an actor since she was 12 years old. At the age of 18, she learned about a job opening at Yash Raj Films. She was delighted by the idea of going to the cinema and applied for the position. Initially, she was rejected for the position, but a month later, Bhoomi was invited to join Yash Raj Films as an assistant casting director. Before venturing into show business, Boomi worked as an assistant casting director for six years.

Bhumi made her acting debut in 2015 with the romantic comedy Dum Laga Ke Haisha. She played the role of obese girl Sandhya Verma in the film, and her performance was widely praised. In the same year, he starred in the online drama “Man’s World”.
