Bilal Shah kidnapped
On August 26, 2023, Bilal Shah was kidnapped from Korangi Road in Karachi, Pakistan. On September 3, 2023, his wife Hareem Shah posted a video on X (formerly known as Twitter) in which Bilal was kidnapped in Pakistan a week earlier. She explained that they were in London but Bilal had to return to Pakistan for work. Later, one night after dinner, when he was leaving his home at No. 6, Kayumabad Street, Karachi, he was abducted by people who arrived in a car. In the video, she seeks help from Pakistan’s Intelligence Agency (ISI). she says,
It has been seven days. Pilar and I are in London. He had to return to Pakistan to do some work. It was night, and when he went out after lunch, he was illegally kidnapped by some cars and the police, and taken to a certain place. Since then, there has been no news about Bilal. He was illegally and wrongly detained by some people. I request the ISI (Pakistan intelligence agency) to clarify this incident. ”
She mentioned that she and Bilal’s family have filed a petition with the Pakistani court but no progress has been made yet. She also accused the police of not taking any serious action in the case. In the video, she also expressed confusion about why police did nothing about the case. She said Bilal has no political affiliation and no legal case against him. According to her video statement, despite their efforts to deal with the matter through legal means, there has been no progress or breakthrough in the case. she says,
This is an insult to Pakistan and the state of law and order in Pakistan. ”

A 25-second video clip of former Pakistani Prime Minister Sheikh Baz Sharif walking with a woman allegedly contributed to her son’s disappearance, according to a complaint by Bilal Shah’s mother. The video was posted by Hareem Shah on her social media account. Harim Shah has accused Mariam Nawaz, daughter of former Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the daughter of Muslim League-Sharif, of ordering the abduction of her husband Bilal from Karachi. On 21 August 2023, Harim shared on X a video of PML-N leader, former Prime Minister Sheikh Baz Sharif, and a woman walking by his side. She captioned the video, reading:
Sherbaz Sharif’s two-hour meeting with his new ‘girlfriend’ at a private London hotel? I sat in the hotel lobby for half an hour having tea, and then went to my room. Is there anything to be ashamed of? ”

On September 5, 2023, Bilal Shah returned home after five days in FIA custody. While in custody, he was questioned about a controversial social media post by Hareem Shah. In an interview, he said of his time in custody,
I’m back. I am respected by members of investigative agencies. They asked me about the Twitter account running under Hareem’s name and I told them I didn’t know what the hell was going on. They checked my phone and everything and found out I had nothing to do with the account. ”
He also said that he would withdraw the FIR filed by his family against some unidentified men. According to security sources, Bilal told investigators that he was not aware of the individual responsible for managing the “X” account on Harlem’s microblogging site; Said she knew the person behind the account. Sources also mentioned they were interested in discussing the account with Harlem. A number of prominent figures, including the leader of Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), have lodged complaints with the FIA over allegedly defamatory content on the account.
