Billie Eilish Brings the Crew Socks and Loafers Trend to the Red Carpet, Plus a Playboy Bunny Bag!

Billie Eilish continues to rule the red carpet, bringing the sock and slipper trend to Palm Springs.

On Thursday, the 22-year-old singer and style chameleon made her first red carpet appearance this year at the 2024 Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards. She was joined by her brother and fellow musician Finneas O’Connell.

The “Ocean Eyes” singer wore a black, red and gold scarf tied around her back that complemented her two-tone black and red hair and shades with yellow lenses.

She also wore a white button-down long-sleeved top with a black tie and black bottoms to match. Eilish kept the black and white theme as she completed her red carpet look with a black oversized bomber jacket and black shoes with visible white socks.

The artist also wore a backpack with the Playboy bunny logo.

Her brother Finneas O’Connell kept it chic with an all black outfit for the evening which included a double breasted suit, formal shoes and black rimmed glasses.

The brothers and sisters are winners of the President’s Award for participation in Barbie.

The two worked together on the hit “What Was I Made for,” which appears in the film and already has nine Golden Globe nominations, including a nod to Eilish and O’Connell’s single.

While appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy FallonEilish opened up about the making of the cinematic ballad, which also earned five nominations at the upcoming 2024 Grammy Awards.

“It just kind of randomly came to this, actually,” she said of the song. “I remember last year Finneas came up to me and said, ‘Dude, would you like to do a song for Barbie movie?'”

Eilish recalled feeling confused before finally getting a “friendly, casual and cool” phone conversation with him Barbie directed by Greta Gerwig and Mark Ronson.

Then she looked back at the resonance of “What was I made for?” had an audience, especially in how it “brought women together in such a way that I feel like I didn’t feel like a part of it and that made me feel really good,” Eilish said. “And I also felt like it was a gathering of people. It felt like we were all having a life experience, you know?”

While still riding off the song’s success, Eilish is working on a new project — her upcoming third album.

“We’re almost done with this new album. So you’ll know more at some point, but I won’t say anything right now,” she teased.
