Moore shared an update on the health of her ex-husband, who was previously diagnosed this month with aphasia that has progressed to frontotemporal dementia (FTD). As Christiane Amanpour said during an interview with CNN on December 5, Bruce is in a “very stable place” right now.
“I’ve shared this with you before, but I really mean this so honestly: It’s so important for anyone who’s dealing with this to really meet them where they are,” Substance the star continued. “And from that place there is such love and joy.”
Moore – who was married to Bruce from 1987 to 2000 – added that the situation was “very difficult” and “not what I would wish on anyone”.
As for her daughters, Moore revealed that the supportive family dynamic is “very important” to me. She noted that even after she and Bruce divorced, they still appreciate “recognizing that we are a family, and we will always be a family, just in a different form.”
“And that shape can kind of evolve and change, and there’s a way we can all be in that shape,” Moore said. “I’m grateful, because it’s not just me — everyone has to come together. And that’s nice.”
