Billy Jack Haynes is now allegedly charged with the murder of his wife, Janette Becraft. The killing happened Thursday in the Lents area of Portland. Portland Police responded around 9:52 a.m. PT to the 6000 block of SE 100th Avenue. Neighbors believed Becraft had dementia. According to Willamette Week, Haynes turned himself in to authorities and is in police custody at a local hospital. Haynes previously sued WWE, alleging that it failed to protect its wrestlers from brain injuries. According to a 2014 article, Haynes had at least 15 concussions and was depressed at the time. According to the newspaper, he had dementia-like symptoms. However, in 2021, the Supreme Court refused to consider the case.

Billy Jack Haynes is now facing prosecution for his wife’s death. Portland police arrested Haynes, 70, after his 85-year-old wife was found shot to death in their home earlier this week. Haynes was born on July 10, 1953 in Portland and had a difficult upbringing. In an interview with The Hannibal TV, Billy talks about everything he had to go through as a child. Haynes said he was sexually and physically assaulted from the age of four until he was eight or nine years old. He said the perpetrator was his mother’s lover, a politician from Portland. When he was 15, his mother and uncle were killed, allegedly by two politicians. Many wrestlers start their careers early, but Haynes started at the age of 28. He was originally a janitor who quit his job to start training with Stu Hart.
He trained at the Dungeon Pro Wrestling School and briefly competed for Hart’s Stampede Wrestling. Haynes and Bruce Hart formed a team in Stampede Wrestling and began wrestling as “Billy Jack” in the Pacific Northwest region. Haynes entered the WWF in 1986 and began his war with Randy Savage for the Intercontinental Championship. He then feuded with Hercules Hernandez, and their feud culminated at Wrestlemania III, dubbed the “Battle of the Full Nelsons”.
Two years later, in 1988, he left the WWF, and ten years later he retired from the sport. Haynes sued WWE in 2014, saying the corporation neglected to protect and educate its wrestlers about significant head injuries while extensively advertising and profiting from the brutality that resulted in such injuries.
Haynes once admitted his role in the 1987 murder
Billy Jack Haynes, a former WWE wrestler, admits his involvement in the unsolved murder of two youths on a railroad in 1987. The victims are two young people, Kevin Ives (17) and Don Henry (16). In an interview in 2018, he claimed to have seen the murder of two boys. Haynes went on to say, “Now, on August 23, 1987, thirty years ago, I was on the railroad tracks in Alexander, Arkansas, and I witnessed everything that happened to the two boys on the tracks.”
He also claimed that the deaths were linked to a cocaine-trafficking organization, and in his second video he claimed to have smuggled and trafficked massive amounts of cocaine across the United States. Haynes’ claims were dismissed as wrestling fans assumed he was used to making bizarre statements. He previously said that WWE founder Vince McMahon is the father of the dead wrestler’s child. He also stated that Steve Austin was ultimately responsible for the murder of wrestling star ‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper.
