Billy Ray Cyrus Shares Rare Photos of Daughter Miley Cyrus in Sweet Birthday Tribute: ‘Hope It’s the Best One Ever!’

Billy Ray Cyrus took a walk down memory lane to celebrate daughter Miley Cyrus’ birthday.

The “Achy Breaky Heart” singer, 63, shared an Instagram tribute filled with photos of the father-daughter duo over the years as Miley celebrated her 32nd birthday on Saturday, November 23.

He opened the post with a photo of himself holding baby Miley while looking lovingly at her, followed by a photo of her just walking holding his jacket as he held her in his arms. Additional photos showed the pair performing together and posing together during Hannah Montana event.

The last photo showed a more recent black and white picture of the two. The “Flowers” singer could be seen hugging her father as he looked towards the camera.

“Happy birthday Mila!!! I hope it’s the best ever!” he captioned the post, adding: “I know I dropped the ‘y.” That’s what I called @mileycyrus for most of her life. ❤️.”

Miley shared her gratitude to everyone who wished her a “Happy Birthday” on her Instagram Stories, writing, “Thank you all for the birthday wishes.”

“My gift to my fans is to celebrate my 6 million plaques with you,” she added alongside a photo of herself in a black vest and pants with shades. The number six was visible on the wall behind her.

In June, Miley spoke about her relationship with her father My next guest needs no introduction with David Letterman amid rumors of a family rift that reportedly began shortly after her mother Tish, 57, filed for divorce from Billy Ray in April 2022 and after she noticeably left her father out of her Grammys acceptance speech in February.

“I’m thankful that I can watch him in front of me. He almost gave me this map. And there’s also a map of what to do and what not to do, and he guided me in both,” she said of her country singer father. “I also inherited narcissism from [him].”

She noted that her father “grew up in a very poor town” and had a “tough childhood” – which shaped who he is.

“So I think I inherited a lot of his perspective on reality and life from him, more so than the way I was raised – which actually my mom raised me… Honestly, my mom is my hero,” the singer continued. Although she also noted that she had “a lot of empathy and compassion” for her dad’s childhood, “which obviously evolved to create a man that I love very much.”

Letterman, 77, then inquired about the rumored split. “There’s no estrangement here with your father,” he said, “that’s just the way things play out?”

“Yeah,” Miley said. “I think what’s so beautiful is that my parents served their children and I know that. My parents served us and sacrificed so much for us. Everything we dreamed of they made possible for us.”
