It appeared that the golfer hit two balls at the same time.
Wools-Cobb initially appeared to have missed the shot when a camera to her side caught the ball bouncing just 3 yards.
But then another camera panned to the second ball flying high in the air and landing near the green.
The Australian golfer, his porter and the people looking inside the ropes were completely taken aback.
But it didn’t take long for the Australian ace to receive the good news when he learned that the long-range shot was actually his.
It quickly became apparent that the second ball must have been buried under or right next to his original ball.
The referees were unable to spot it before the shot due to the incredibly difficult lie consisting of tall grass.
There was more good news for Wools-Cobb as the new rules saved him from a penalty.
The new guidelines state that because you intended to hit your actual ball, you cannot be penalized for also hitting another ball.

Fans were in awe of the unusual venue, but some claimed they had already experienced the same shock themselves.
One golf enthusiast tweeted: “I did this once, they both rolled great onto the green!”
Another posted: “A common occurrence in the rough course of Irish bonds!”
And a third wrote: “Happened to my son once when he was blown out of some leaves at Old Kinderhook by the Lake of the Ozarks at #8.
“His ball went about 10 feet and the ball under him went about 5 feet from the hole. The craziest thing I’ve ever seen on the course!”
Wools-Cobb, however, finished tied for 26th, eight strokes behind eventual winner and compatriot Brendan Jones.
