Blake Lively Will Not Attend 2025 Golden Globes amid Justin Baldoni Legal Battle: Report

Blake Lively is sitting out the 2025 Golden Globes.

The actress, 37, will not attend the annual awards ceremony on Sunday, January 5 due to a legal battle with her It ends with us Costar and director Justin Baldoni, according to Deadline.

Lively’s husband Ryan Reynolds will also reportedly not be attending this weekend’s Golden Globes, along with his Deadpool & Wolverine costar Hugh Jackman, the media said.

Sources told Deadline that the three actors’ decision not to attend the ceremony was made “well before” Lively’s filing of the complaint and the ongoing legal battle with Baldoni, 40.

Representatives for Lively did not respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment on Saturday, Jan. 4.

In December 2024, Lively filed a complaint against Baldoni and his associates, alleging sexual harassment and a retaliatory smear campaign against her.

Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, called the claims “false,” and the actor has filed a $250 million lawsuit against The New York Times on Dec. 31 because of a newspaper article about Lively’s complaint. (Spokesman for The time said his story “was meticulously and responsibly reported.”)

Golden Globes host Nikki Glaser recently confirmed that Lively’s legal battle with Baldoni will not be joked about or discussed during the ceremony.

“I think the thing between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni is so hot right now that even mentioning it would make it seem like I might be on the wrong side of things, even though I never would be,” Glaser, 40, told Yahoo! Fun.

“I also don’t want to say his name – I’m mad that I even know his name, to be honest with you, so I don’t have to say it anymore,” she added.

A source recently told PEOPLE that Lively is “ready to tackle” her legal battle with Baldoni.

“She enjoyed the holidays and is trying really hard to live in the moment right now,” the insider said. “She still believes she’s doing the right thing. She’s ready to tackle whatever comes her way.”

The 82nd Golden Globe Awards will air live on Sunday, January 5th at 8:00 PM ET on CBS and with streaming on Paramount+.
