Treats Blue’s tracks host has taken social media by storm as the original star of the beloved Nickelodeon series celebrates his 51st birthday on October 9.
“The fact that you keep showing up for us proves it was never just a show, thanks 🩷,” one fan commented along with birthday wishes on Burns’ latest TikTok video.
“One of my childhood heroes!” another noticed the actor.
Blue’s tracks first premiered on Nickelodeon in 1996, starring Burns as Steve. He remained in the series until 2000, when he was replaced by Donovan Patton. Patton played Steve’s brother Joe until the series ended in 2006.
In 2019, Josh Dela Cruz was cast in the lead role for the revival Blue’s Clues & You! and remains a part of the franchise, including a starring role in the Paramount+ feature film released in 2022.

In May, the original Star of Blue’s Clues delivered the commencement address to approximately 800 graduates who earned master’s, bachelor’s and associate’s degrees and certificates at SUNY Delhi’s commencement ceremony. The heartfelt speech included words of wisdom and callbacks to the beloved children’s series.
Noting that they still tell him how much the show means to people, he took a moment to give them some valuable advice based on the lyrics to the Paw Prints song he sang on the show.
“Very often someone will repeat to me a line that I kept saying in every episode, which is, ‘If you use your mind and take it one step at a time, you can do anything you want,'” he said. he said.
Burns said the phrase is meant to serve as “an empowering reminder of the power of hard work” and “an empowering reminder of the importance of dreaming.”
Burns’ inspirational messages on social media created a special bond between him and the now grown-up original Blue’s tracks audience, who still share the series with their own children today.
In a recent interview with The New York Timesexplained Burns that part of his decision to reconnect with fans was that many thought he had died in the time following his exit from the series in 2002.
“It hurt, to be honest. And it annoyed me a bit because it was happening when the Internet was still in its infancy,” he admitted.
“When a million, a trillion people think you’ve been dead for 15 years, it drives you crazy,” he noted, prompting him to start the warm social media presence he values today.
