Vincent Edward Jackson was born on November 30, 1962 in Bessemer, Alabama, and raised there. Florence Jackson Bond is his mother and AD Adams is his father. He was the eighth of ten children, and his mother was very supportive of him and his siblings. His family nicknamed him “wild pig” because he was always getting into mischief. He went to McCalla High School, where he ran for 1,175 yards as a senior. Similarly, during his senior year, Jackson hit twenty home runs in 25 games for McAdory’s baseball team. He remained a two-time state champion in the decathlon. He built up such a big points lead before the 1500m race that he never competed in that event. He was national champion in the decathlon both times.

Professional life and career of Bo Jackson
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected Jackson with the first pick in the 1986 NFL Draft, but he chose to play baseball for the Kansas City Royals. Starting in 1987, he played football for the ‘Los Angeles Raiders’. In terms of performance, 1990 was by far the best year of his career. In football, he averaged 11.3 yards per reception and 5.6 yards per rush. In baseball, he had a .272 batting average.
When he suffered a debilitating hip injury while playing for the Raiders in 1991, his football career was cut short. Later that year, he was acquired by the Chicago White Sox from the Kansas City Royals. Jackson helped them win the American League West title in 1993. After the 1994 season, he decided to retire from baseball to spend more time with his family.
