Battered Tyson Fury reveals reason why Francis Ngannou didn’t win fight after being dropped by ex-UFC champ

TYSON FURY claims he has the stats to prove he was not gifted victory in the Saudi showdown with boxing rookie Francis Ngannou.

The Gypsy King preserved his unbeaten record and historic undisputed heavyweight title fight with Oleksandr Usyk with a narrow victory over the former UFC champion.

Fury was left red-faced when he was knocked out in the third round, which many believed was enough to raise Ngannou’s hand.

The WBC heavyweight champion landed less than a third of the punches he landed in the Riyadh Rumble, but was still more accurate than the MMA man-mountain.

He said: “I’m not a boxing referee, but I can clearly see that he didn’t win the fight on the punching stats.”

Fury is adamant that all three judges would have awarded the Predator a historic win if he had done enough to deserve it.

He told iFL TV: “And if he wanted to win the fight, they would have given it to him. Right?

“That wasn’t my performance, was it? We were both guest fighters?”

Fury, 35, can now focus on his highly-anticipated showdown with Usyka after playing and nearly getting burned by Ngannou’s fire.

But promoter Frank Warren insists the proposed December 23 date is now off the table.

He said: “It’s too early to talk about what Tyson is doing right now, but the fight with Usyk is signed.

“It will take place but it won’t be on the 23rd. It was crazy that some people suggested that it might still take place on the 23rd.

“He’s 35 years old and he’s just done a 12-week training camp and he’s just been in a tough fight.

“He needs a vacation with his family, he needs to switch off, and we will announce the date when we are ready. But the fight is signed. The fight will happen.

“It will happen at the beginning of the new year, at the end of January or February. It will depend on Tyson, it’s his body.

“He’s not smashed to pieces at all, but he needs a rest.”

Usyk, however, is adamant that December is doom and gloom for their showdown, telling Boxing King Media: “Uncle Frank is saying some sneaky things.

“We have a contract that says the fight must take place on December 23rd.

“Let Fury vacate his title first, then he can rest… Tyson – we have to fight, we have to do it, December 23rd.

“See you in the ring. I love you.”
