Footage shown in a Channel 4 documentary on Saturday night, in which Brand is accused of rape, sexual assault and battery, showed the awkward encounter.
Brand hosted the awards 17 years ago when he shook hands with Sir Bob who joined him on stage.
Like Do they know it’s Christmas? singer took the podium, telling the crowd: “Russell Brand, what an a***,” before receiving a standing ovation from the crowd.
It comes after a bombshell report by The Times revealed that five women claimed Brand sexually assaulted them during his height of fame.
Brand is said to have assaulted all the women between 2006 and 2013 – but he has denied all the allegations.
The first claimed that the comedian raped her against a wall in his home in Los Angeles.
According to the woman, Brand apologized to her when she texted him “When the girl [says] no, means no” after she was treated at a rape crisis centre, saying he was “very sorry” and would “make it up to her with love and kindness”.
Another claimed he forced her to perform oral sex until she choked when she was just 16 and had to punch him in the stomach to get him to stop.
Brand would have been 31 years old then.
The girl, who has been given the pseudonym Alice, also claimed he called her “baby” during the three-month abusive relationship.
She claimed he asked her to save his name in her phone as “Carly” and sent a car to pick her up from school and drive her to his house, she even claimed the taxi driver begged her not to go inside.
A third alleged victim, who said she worked with Brando, claimed he sexually assaulted her before threatening legal action if she spoke out.
And the fourth woman accused him of sexually assaulting her, as well as emotionally and physically abusing her.
A fifth, Jordan Martin, previously wrote in a book about the alleged abuse she suffered in February 2007.
She claims he subjected her to emotional and sexual abuse and made her brush her teeth so hard that her gums bled.
The women don’t know each other and felt compelled to speak out because of Brando’s rise as an online influencer.
Brand denied all the allegations against him overnight, before they were published, characterizing them as “aggressive attacks”.
The actor posted a video on YouTube in which he said he “absolutely denies” the claims and that his previous relationships had “always been consensual”.
While admitting he was “promiscuous” at the height of his fame, he vehemently denied any criminal aspect to his behaviour.
