Neil Currey’s obituary: According to a post on Instagram by his former coach Miloš Sarcev, Neil Currey died at the age of 34. Sarcev posted on Twitter, “Absolutely surprising, heartbreaking news – that my former athlete @neil_currey has died today… He killed himself.
“My last/fondest memory of him was this happy face after he won the New York Pro and achieved his lifelong ambition of qualifying for the Mr. Olympia.”
“I am speechless and overwhelmed with pain and sadness.” My sincere condolences to his family, friends and loved ones. Neil, God bless your soul.”
This comes just days after the death of famous female professional bodybuilder Lisa Lyon, who died aged 70 after a battle with cancer.

How did Neil Currey die?
There is no official confirmation of Currey’s death yet. Miloš Šarčev, former coach and bodybuilding giant, discovered the athlete’s death. Sarcev called Currey’s death “heartbreaking” in an online tribute.
As word of Currey’s death spread, tributes poured in. “Even one of my favorite bodybuilders,” one fan added. Taken too soon.” Another said that the athlete’s death “saddened” them.
Who was Neil Currey?
Neil Currey was a professional bodybuilder and fitness fanatic from the United Kingdom. According to the bodybuilding website Generation Iron, he was born and raised in the United Kingdom.
Neil started weightlifting in adolescence while playing football at school. He gradually changed his concentration to bodybuilding, following a strict gym and diet routine.
Neil Currey competed in the Pro Muscle category at the 2017 World Championships and finished fifth. His career took a major turn the following year when he won first place at the NPC Worldwide Amateur Olympia Italy, earning his Pro card.
