Bongbong Marcos was born on September 13, 1957 in Manila, Philippines to Ferdinand E. Marcos and Imelda Remedios Visitacion Romualdez. His father, Ferdinand Sr., was the representative of the second district of Ilocos Norte when he was born, and two years later he became a senator. Bongbong Marcos attended kindergarten and primary school at Institucion Teresiana and La Salle Greenhills in Manila.
