Botched Star Terry Dubrow Says He Quit ‘Miracle’ Drug Ozempic After Missing the ‘Joy of Eating’

Terry Dubrow talks about why he jumped in and got off Ozempico.

The Bad star, 65, recently spoke with Page six and revealed that his curiosity led him to try Ozempic, an FDA-approved prescription drug for people with type 2 diabetes.

It’s one of the brand names for semaglutide — also known as Wegovy — which works in the brain to make you feel full and is Hollywood’s latest weight loss trend.

“I tried. I thought it was amazing,” the celebrity plastic surgeon told the outlet. “I didn’t have that much weight to lose. But I wanted to try it because so many of my patients were on it and I wanted to see what it’s like when you’re not diabetic and only have 10-15 pounds to lose.”

Dubrow admitted he experienced some side effects like “mild nausea” while taking the weekly injections, but is still a “huge fan” of the drug.

“I think it’s a miracle,” he added. “The greatest advance in the history of medicine.”

However, Dubrow said he eventually left Ozempic because he missed “the joy of eating.”

“I thought, ‘You know what, I kind of want to get my appetite back. The holidays are coming, I want to enjoy them'”, he explained.

“You go on vacation, maybe you don’t exercise, you eat too much,” he continued. “It was kind of like, ‘Well, I want to go on a food vacation,’ meaning I want to be able to eat again because it really took away my appetite and all the joy of eating.”

Although Dubrow spoke highly of Ozempic, he cautioned that patients should limit alcohol consumption and understand that rapid weight loss can result in loose skin.

“You can’t drink on that,” he said. “You have to be very careful with alcohol because people are being put in hospital with pancreatitis.”

“For patients who want to try it [Ozempic], you have to understand that your skin will relax much faster,” he explained. “You will lose lean muscle mass. You have to increase your protein intake, you have to exercise.”
