Boxer Dog with ‘No Idea of What Personal Space Is’ Perches on Owner Like a Parrot — Watch!

Boxer dog Luna recently surprised her owners with an unusual attitude.

In the video shared by Amy McLoughlin of Washington Township, New Jersey, the dog sits on the shoulders of Amy’s husband Brian.

“Luna, you’re one weird dog,” Amy says in the video. “He’ll try to sit on your head. I think he’s bird watching now.”

“All I could do was laugh,” Amy tells PEOPLE. “She really is a clown.”

The couple got Luna from an acquaintance in August 2022, when the dog was 8 weeks old. They recently lost another boxer, 12-year-old Apollo, and thought it might be too soon for a new puppy, but when they saw Luna, they couldn’t say no.

Amy says they also have two older boxers, Shadow and Zeus, who “love” Luna.

Luna “first started acting like a parrot” after seeing Zeus on Brian’s lap, Amy explains. “She was jealous of the attention Zeus was getting and decided to climb on top of him and climb higher than Zeus, knocking him down and sitting on his shoulder.”

“Boxers seem to have no idea what personal space is,” she adds. “They always follow one of us around, even in the shower.”

Amy says Luna often makes the couple laugh with her “unique personality.”

“He teases our older boxers and steals their toys,” he explains. “She pushes our guests out of their seats. She’ll smack your hand a little to get the guest to play with her or pet her. When she wants you to get out of bed, she’ll just sit on top of you. She’s also the cutest little thing. She cuddles under the covers in bed and naps snuggled up with us or snuggled up with our other dogs.”

Amy calls Luna a “permanent puppy”.

“He’ll still play with the toilet paper, take it and run away,” she says. “She is our alarm clock, she whispers to us to get up, and when that doesn’t work, she will sit on us. She steals every toy from her older brothers and sisters, and they let her. She likes to run around the yard and be chased. She is also very loud. Amy credits Shadow and Zeus with raising Luna into a “goofy and lovable little girl” just like themselves.

“They like to run in circles around the yard,” she says of the three dogs. “Shadow’s a senior, so she can’t keep up all the time, but they all like to sleep together. We’re charmed by the three of them.”
