The couple appeared in good spirits under parasols as they were escorted into the church by the Reverend Canon Dr Paul Williams.

The police made sure that the children were brought to the front of the crowd so that they could take the king’s seats in the front row.

Debbie Figg, 59, said: “We’re staying for the weekend and we think it’s important to show support.”

She came with Robin Figg (68) and grandchildren Harvey Emmanuel (10) and Taylor Emmanuel (9).

Taylor’s message to the king was, “I hope you are feeling better.”

Oscar Young, eight, said seeing the king was “very exciting”.

While Ken Stone, 71, said: “There’s still so much going on with family relationships that it’s good to support him through this when he’s obviously physically going through difficult times himself.”

Charles, 75, is staying at 20,000-acre Sandringham while undergoing cancer treatment.

It comes after The Sun revealed on Sunday that Prince Harry has been “blocked” from joining the king at Norfolk Palace during his visit to the UK.

Palace aides feared they would “never get rid of him” after Harry flew more than 5,000 miles from California to be with his cancer-stricken dad.

The 39-year-old planned a long, candid conversation with the king, but was given 45 minutes.

Just six minutes after Harry left the meeting, the King and Queen headed in a Bentley to the helicopter in the gardens of Buckingham Palace before flying to Sandringham.

Harry – who had hoped to join the king for a few days at Sandringham – was instead forced to spend the night in a hotel.

He flew back to his wife Meghan, 42, and their two children in California after spending just 26 hours in the UK.

An insider revealed: “Harry came to see his dad, expecting to go to Sandringham.

“But instead he was asked to be at Clarence House and limited to 30 minutes.

“He was afraid he would never get rid of it if he went to Sandringham.”

Last week, Harry told Good Morning America “I love my family” and then described how “illness can have a reunifying effect.”

Speaking at the Winter Invictus Games’ One Year to Go event in Whistler, Canada, the Duke added: “In all these families, I see everything day in and day out.

“The power of bringing together the family unit.”

Harry also discussed family life and revealed the “amazing” sense of humor shared by children Archie, four, and Lilibet, two.

He added: “Kids are great. Kids grow like all kids very quickly.

“They both have an amazing sense of humor and make us laugh and keep us grounded every day like most kids do. I’m so thankful to be a dad.”

He even revealed that he had considered applying for US citizenship, but stressed that it was “not a big priority”.

On Friday, singer Michael Bublé serenaded Prince Harry and Meghan Markle – and the singer called the Duke a “visionary”.

The Canadian singer, 48, reworked Frank Sinatra’s epic “My Way” in a nod to Harry at the closing gala of the Invictus Games “One Year To Go” event.

Bublé also expressed “get well wishes for your dad” in tribute to King Charles, who is suffering from cancer.

Prince Harry, in a dark suit and black tie, later gave a speech in which he paid tribute to the Invictus Games competitors.

He added: “The Invictus Games are not just a competition; they are a way of life, a celebration of the human spirit.

“It’s a reminder that we are not defined by our injuries, but by our strength, our commitment and our ability to overcome adversity.”
