I have been there ever since the year 1994. The one and only Mitzi Shore personally chose me. As the final performer today, I close off the Main Room on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. A comparison of my humour to Sam Kinison, Lenny Bruce, and Woody Allen has been made.
To be very honest, my humour may not be for everyone, but it is most definitely for those who enjoy using their critical thinking skills and do not take offence easily. I’ve never felt the need to quit my day job due to the excellent care and accessibility to the stand-up comedy stage. For reasons I won’t get into here, I quit my day job and went out right away to get a new one. It will be quite clear how this operates if you’ve ever watched my show.
Early in the new millennium, I appeared as a guest on “My Wife and Kids”. Damon Wayans starred in this TV programme, which I thought was very fascinating and satisfying to work on. I’ve always wanted to appear on TV while working a regular job. Why not do both if you can do both? Always prefer steak sandwiches to bologna. Any day over bologna sandwiches, I choose steak sandwiches. I find it very ugly socially and personally to be a broke comic in my middle to late years.
Finally, I must say that the Comedy Store has severely spoilt me. I stay off the roads. Why should I travel and risk rejection when I can face it every night in my own bed while facing an audience in my own town? In the film “A Few Good Men,” Jack Nicolson noted that some people are unable or unable to bear the truth.
My interests also include bonsai trees, pro wrestling, bareback horse riding, and long beach walks. Bingo and toast with peanut butter and jelly are both acceptable.
