Brianna LaPaglia Claims Zach Bryan Was 'Drunk' When He Canceled Planned Appearance at Noah Kahan Show 'Last-Minute'

Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia is shedding new light on rumors that her ex-boyfriend Zach Bryan suddenly canceled a planned appearance at Noah Kahan’s concert in July.

On Thursday, November 7, the episode BFFspodcast that LaPaglia co-hosts with Dave Portnoy and Josh Richards, stated that Bryan, 28, was scheduled to make a surprise appearance at Kahan’s show at Fenway Park in Boston on July 19.

“He was supposed to be a guest, but then he didn’t go,” she said. – He canceled at the last minute.

When Portnoy interjected that it was because Bryan “got a s–t face,” LaPaglia, 25, said she wasn’t at the show with him, but she got that impression.

“Yeah, I think he was drunk,” she claimed. “I wasn’t with him, but he was drunk and canceled [Kahan]. I don’t know why he told me to cancel, but he canceled the night before or the day before.”

PEOPLE reached out to Bryan’s rep, who has not commented on the allegations.

Kahan, 27, has often greeted guests on stage on his We’ll All Be Here Forever tour; for the first of two nights at Fenway, he was joined by Gracie Abrams, The Lumineers and James Bay. He and Bryan have had great success over the past two years, and in September 2023 they joined forces on “Sarah’s Place,” which is featured on Bryan’s EP Guys of faith.

Rumors that Bryan had pulled out of Kahan’s show first surfaced on anonymous celebrity gossip site DeuxMoi, though the “Something in the Orange” singer was quick to dismiss speculation of bad blood between the singer and songwriter.

On July 22, Bryan posted a video of a FaceTime conversation between him and Kahan, writing, “Can you please stop being weirdos on the internet. Noah is my brother and always will be who the hell he is.”

LaPaglia also defended Bryan at the time in a TikTok video, during which she mocked a headline that claimed Bryan didn’t show up “because he was too drunk.”

“You’re always wrong,” she said to netizens. “He didn’t even show up… He didn’t show up because he just did a two-and-a-half-hour set at Gillette, a sold-out mom stadium. His voice was fried, and the next morning he went on the longest run of his life, the internet is a crazy place and it’s always wrong.”

Elsewhere on BFFs podcast, LaPaglia claimed that she “wasn’t allowed to listen” to Kahan’s music while she was dating Bryan, because she was “listening to him too much.”

She also claimed that Bryan once got mad at her for singing the hit no. 1 Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night”.

Bryan and LaPaglia broke up in October after more than a year of dating, and she has since claimed he was emotionally abusive.

“The last year of my life has been the hardest year of my life dealing with abuse from this guy,” she said on the podcast. “I’m still afraid because I’m afraid of him. My brain is wired and I’m afraid of making him angry, and last week I didn’t want to talk about it because I was afraid.”

She continued: “There was always another excuse for why he treated me so badly and why I cry myself to sleep every night. Why does he scream at me and then you wake up, that’s an excuse, that’s ‘me’ I’ll get better, like I need you in my life, but if you’ve been through this — I don’t expect people to understand emotional abuse if you haven’t been through it, I hope you never have to go through it, but if you’ve been there, you know what I’m talking about.”

She also claimed that he offered her $12 million to sign an NDA, which would prevent her from talking about their relationship.
