Bridgerton Composer Releases Orchestral Version of Jennifer Lopez's 'Waiting for Tonight' 25 Years After Its Release

Two weeks after the singer/actress hosted a Bridgerton-themed 55th birthday party — complete with guests dressed in ball gowns, an orchestra and horse-drawn carriages — the Season 3 composer of the hit Netflix series is giving J.Lo fans a throwback touch.

On Friday, August 2, composer Archer Marsh posted an Instagram Reel of his orchestral version of her hit “Waiting for Tonight.” Lopez reposted the Reel on her Instagram stories.

The clip included a photo Satin the actress who looked regal as she sat in her best Regency era attire. The photo, which was taken at her birthday party on July 20 in the Hamptons, New York, was set to a familiar tune.

“I’m waiting outside tonight!” read the title of the post.

The single, which was released in 1999, will celebrate its 25th anniversary this September.

The sultry dance track was on J. Lo’s debut studio album, on the 6th — which also included fan favorites like “If You Had My Love,” “Let’s Get Loud,” and more.

“Waiting for Tonight” was nominated for two MTV Video Music Awards, where it won the MTV Video Music Award for Best Dance Video. In addition, Lopez performed the hit song on television programs such as Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve and the 11th Billboard Music Awards.

Marsh teased the song ahead of its release with two behind-the-scenes clips of his orchestras playing the track, both outside and in what appeared to be the interior of a professional recording studio.

Bridgerton is known for presenting orchestral versions of popular songs.

On June 11, Netflix released a playlist for Bridgertonseason 3, part 2, saying that it will feature covers of songs originally written by Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Coldplay and more.

Exact instrumental covers include Swift’s “You Belong with Me,” Grande’s “POV,” Coldplay’s “Yellow,” Demi Lovato’s “Confident,” Ellie Goulding’s “Lights,” and Imagine Dragons’ “Thunder.”

Some artists are featured more than once, such as Grande’s “thank you, next” in the series premiere.

For Lopez Bridgerton-themed birthday party, she channeled her best Lady Whistledown for the recap.

“Dearest gentle reader… And everyone had a great evening,” he said Maid in Manhattan the star captioned her Instagram video.

Her guest list included her mother, Guadalupe Rodríguez, and others close to the actress. However, multiple sources confirmed to PEOPLE that Lopez’s husband Ben Affleck was not in attendance.
