Her family said she returned to a clinic in Istanbul for a check-up but suffered a heart attack in a taxi on the way to hospital with her partner Bradley Jones desperately giving her CPR.

She was rushed to intensive care, but doctors were unable to save her and she was pronounced dead on Monday.

Demi, of Little Hulton, Salford, Gtr Manchester, is believed to have suffered a series of heart attacks caused by a fat embolism despite doctors saying her operation last Thursday was a success.

The mother of three, who gave birth to her youngest son just seven months ago, traveled to Turkey after previously undergoing unsuccessful dental and other surgeries.

Today, her heartbroken brother Carl, 37, told how her family and partner tried to convince Demi not to have the job done – and warned anyone else considering going to Turkey for the operation “Don’t do it!”.

The dad-of-four said: “It’s tragic what happened. We’re just in shock. She went to Istanbul to do it.

“She went to get her teeth done earlier. Nobody wanted her to go out and do it, but she’s one of those people.

“Her partner is still out and his dad has just flown over there to be with him.

“If anyone is thinking of flying to Turkey for surgery, I would say don’t do it! Even her boyfriend didn’t want her to do it.

“But she’s 26 and she has her own opinion. Her mom didn’t want her to date either.

“We were told that her boyfriend had to perform CPR on her in the taxi.

“We think they both went back to the clinic for a check-up and she collapsed in the clinic.

“They put her in a taxi with her partner, something happened in the taxi, she couldn’t breathe.

“He had to do CPR. I don’t know if she came to and died in the hospital. That’s unclear. We don’t know all the details.

“I think the coroner’s report will be there. Her partner needs a death certificate before he gets home.

“She’s only 26, she shouldn’t have died. Just don’t do it, it’s such a high risk. She should never have done it. She left behind three young children.

“I was just told this morning. Her two eldest children were away with their dad and came home early and I was told. She also has a seven month old baby.”

Younger sister Georgina posted an emotional video in honor of Demi on TikTok.

She wrote: “I lost my sister yesterday. I miss you so much Demi. Nothing is real anymore. How can you be missing.

“I just want to hear you scream okay baby nothing will ever be the same without you I love you Demi x.”

Demi and her siblings only recently learned that their mom, Christine, had won her battle with cancer.

A source said: “Dema’s family and partner are heartbroken. Doctors have told her the operation was a success and she is recovering for a few days as you are not allowed to fly home straight away.

“She was due to fly home to her children on Monday. At 4.30am on Monday she woke up in great pain so her partner called a taxi.

“She appears to have died in the taxi. He tried to give her CPR en route and she was rushed to intensive care but they could not save her and she was pronounced dead in the early hours.

“Doctors at the hospital believe she suffered a fat embolism that invaded her lungs and put a strain on her heart, causing a heart attack.

“She left three young children behind. People need to understand how dangerous operations abroad can be.”

Friends today paid tribute to Demi, who is the latest Briton to die tragically in Turkey after cosmetic surgery.

Megan Holland posted on Facebook: “Shine so bright on your beautiful boys Demi Agoglia and send them the strength they will need to get through this, I can’t forget you, more needs to be done about these f*ing stupid companies.

“You were already perfect, and now you’re not even here.”

Linda Breeze said: “Oh broken hearts RIP Demi Agoglia, you were loved and will be missed by so many.”

Shelby Flannagan added: “What a cruel world we live in. Even though we haven’t really spoken in the past year, we’ve had so many memories over the years!

“Lots of crazy nights and mischief in our young days. You were the life of the party and such a funny wild person.

“Thinking of your little boys and your family and friends at this difficult time. Rest in peace Demi Agoglia.”

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been contacted for comment.

The shot to get the ‘famous butt’ is the number 1 risk

Richard Moriarty

A BRAZILIAN butt lift has the highest risk of death of any cosmetic surgery, but it’s gaining popularity thanks to curvy celebrities.

The operations — which cost £3,500 in Turkey and £10,000 in the UK — have a death rate of more than one in 4,000 operations, studies show.

It involves inserting silicone implants or injecting fat from other parts of the body.

Melissa Kerr, 31, from Gorleston, Norfolk, died of a fatal blood clot in her lung following a £3,200 operation in Istanbul in 2019.

Leah Cambridge, 29, suffered a blood clot during the £6,500 BBL in Turkey.

The mum-of-three from Leeds died in 2018 when fat was accidentally injected into her vein, causing her to have three heart attacks.

In 2022, following a four-year suspension of BBL in the UK, the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons recommended that surgeons only inject fat under the skin, not deep into the muscles.

What is a Brazilian butt lift?

The Brazilian butt lift has become increasingly popular in recent years thanks to curvy celebrities like Kim Karadashian.

Medical studies have shown that BBL surgery – which costs around £3,500 in Turkey but £10,000 in the UK – carries the highest risk of any cosmetic surgery with more than one death in 4,000 procedures.

In surgery, surgeons insert silicone-filled implants and/or inject fat transferred from other parts of the body.

Other British women who have died since the BBL in Turkey include Melissa Kerr, 31, from Gorleston, Norfolk, in 2019.

The deadly clot traveled to her lungs after a £3,200 procedure at an Istanbul clinic.

Leah Cambridge, 29, developed a blood clot during a £6,500 Brazilian butt lift operation in Turkey.

The mum-of-three from Leeds died in August 2018 after having fat removed from her waist and injected into her buttocks.

But she suffered a fatal complication when fat was accidentally injected into her vein, causing her to suffer three heart attacks on the operating table.

In 2022, the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) issued new guidelines for members following a four-year suspension of performing BBLs in the UK due to concerns about mortality rates.

He recommends surgeons only inject fat under the skin, not deep into the muscles like BBL.
