BRITAIN’s Got Talent star who appeared in the final alongside David Walliams has died aged 51 – as tributes pour in.

Will Read died at his home in Macclesfield on August 7 with his friend and brother by his side after a battle with cancer.

The musician from Cheshire was best known for his role in Britain’s Got Talent comedy The Showbears.

The group stole the show with their sparkly navy suits in the 2012 live semi-finals.

Referee David Walliams joined in their surprise visit to the final that year.

Read later joined Gloria Estefan’s band on her 2013 European tour, traveling to countries including Belgium and Switzerland.

Paying tribute on Facebook, one friend said: “Rest in peace Will, what a beautiful soul you were.”

Another said: “Such a good friend and lovely character. I’ll miss you. Relax my friend.”

The singer’s obituary read: “Will, aged 51, of Macclesfield, passed away peacefully on Wednesday 7th August 2024.

“Dear beloved son of Kate, beloved brother of Tom, beloved brother-in-law of Marianne and fantastic uncle of Jimmy and Liam.

“Will was an accomplished musician who excelled in percussion, drums and vocals.

“He toured with Gloria Estefan and cruised the world as a music director in his successful career.

“He will be greatly missed by his entire family, many friends and colleagues.”
