Brittany Cartwright is setting the record straight after rumors of marital problems started circulating between her and husband Jax Taylor.
In the latest episode of the couple’s podcast When reality hits, the Vanderpump Rules The alum, 35, shared that she wanted to “address some rumours” after their social media activity fueled divorce speculation.
“I’m not going to be too hard on this because, you know, some people deserve their privacy. But I will say — marriage is hard and people go through ups and downs all the time and that’s totally normal,” Cartwright said. “Sometimes people may need their space [and] sometimes it won’t.”

The reality star then noted that there were new developments in her marriage to Taylor, 44, after filming the upcoming Vanderpump Rules spinoff, Valley. The Bravo series should also include colleagues VPR alum Kristen Doute as well as newcomers Luke Broderick, Danny Booko, Nia Booko, Jesse Lally, Michelle Lally, Jason Caperna and Janet Caperna.
“I just want to make one thing clear, and that is that my life is not a publicity stunt for anything. We were filming Valley months ago—months and months ago,” Cartwright explained. “And we’re really excited for this to come out and so many changes have happened in the lives of every single couple — every single couple on the show. I just want to make it very clear: there are no gimmicks here.”
Cartwright’s comments come after her husband defended their relationship amid documenting their separate journeys on social media. Taylor went to Detroit while Cartwright stayed in Montreal, Canada.

Last week, Taylor shared a smiling photo of himself on Instagram with the caption: “Can’t say enough about the city of Montreal. food, people, hospitality. every place I’ve been to has been amazing. I can’t wait to come back here.”
In the comments section, a fan asked, “Is he [sic] Brittany aren’t together anymore?” and he replied, “Why would you say that,, I can’t go on a trip out [sic] my wife for work…🙄”
Another fan wrote: “I hope you and Brittany are [sic] still together. ❤️❤️😂”, and he replied, “of course, stop reading the BS.”
Taylor and Cartwright first met at a Las Vegas bar in 2015. After briefly splitting in 2017, the couple reconciled on camera and later announced their engagement in June 2018. A year later, in June 2019, they married in Kentucky Castle in front of 240 guests. They later welcomed their only son, Cruz Michael Cauchi, in April 2021, months after announcing their departure from VPR.

The duo has been candid about going through ups and downs in their relationship over the years. Taylor told PEOPLE in 2017, after revealing he’d been cheating on his then-girlfriend, that they “weathered the storm” in that chapter of their relationship and ended up “in a great place” afterward.
Taylor and Cartwright later opened up about their marriage in March 2023, when Cartwright told PEOPLE they were “sticking it out,” despite people on the sidelines thinking they’d only be together for “one year.”
Taylor added that both the “good days” and the “bad days” made their relationship stronger. “I don’t believe in divorce. My parents didn’t divorce,” Taylor said last year. “I don’t believe that. Marriage is work. I’m not saying every day is amazing.”
