In past interviews, Tveit has expressed interest in playing Sweeney Todd on stage. He told Penta in January: “In terms of musical theatre, I’ve always wanted to play George Sunday in the park with George and Sweeney Todd inside Sweeney Todd. I was in Les Mis movie like Enjolras, but I’d like to be Jean Valjean when I’m a little older.”
“I didn’t play a lot of princes – that’s what I like to say. I wasn’t much of a lover,” he added. “I’ve been doing a little more non-centric stuff and I’m more drawn to conflicted characters and flawed people.”
