Broadway is about to get it Swept away with a new musical featuring the tunes of chart-topping folk-rock band The Avett Brothers, and PEOPLE has a first look at the cast in action.
After sold-out runs in Berkeley, California, and Washington, DC, the show takes New York by storm this month, with performances beginning at the Longacre Theater on Tuesday, October 29th, before the official opening on November 19th.
Tony winner and Spring awakening alum John Gallagher Jr. leads the cast, reuniting with his ex american idiot Costar Stark Sands to produce. The two will be joined by Wayne Duvall (in 1984) and Dickinson featured Adrian Blake Enscoe, making his Broadway debut.
All four sing “A Gift for Melody Anne” together in the song’s new music video, which PEOPLE can exclusively premiere.

Producer Matthew Masten wanted to adapt that album when he proposed the idea of a musical to the band in 2014. Tony-winning writer John Logan, however, ended up inserting songs from their band’s five different albums into the score while writing the musical’s book.
The Avett Brothers even wrote a new song, “Lord Lay Your Hand on My Shoulder,” for the show.
