Brooke Shields Beams in Pearl Gown That She Says Her Late Mom Teri Wore When She Met Queen Elizabeth

Brooke Shields revived a very significant piece from her wardrobe.

On Oct. 9, the model and founder of Commence, 59, attended the New York City Ballet’s Fall 2024 Fashion Gala wearing a special gown passed down from her late mother, Teri Shields.

In a video shared on Instagram by content creator Mickey Blank, Blue lagoon the star was asked about the look she wore.

“My mother’s dress [from] when she met the queen,” Brooke shared.

The vintage design is certainly fit for a royal date with its elegant A-line silhouette, romantic bell sleeves and intricate pearl embellishments. She paired it with elegant pearl earrings, a clutch and white flat earrings.

Fashion is always a family affair for Brooke. She is known for lending her clothes to her own daughters, Rowan, 21, and Grier, 18, both of whom she shares with husband Chris Henchy.

Teri – who started guiding Brooke when she was just 11 months old – died aged 79 after a long illness in 2012. She also suffered from dementia.

Their relationship as business partners and mother and daughter was not entirely smooth sailing, as Teri was known to maintain an iron fist throughout her child’s career.

However, in a statement she shared following her parent’s death, Brooke said: “My mother was a huge part of my life and who I am today,” adding: “I loved her, laughed with her and respected her. And even though she had her problems, she was my mom.”
