Bryan Abasolo Reaffirms Request for $16K Monthly Spousal Support from Rachel Lindsay, Claims She 'Never Wanted to Be Around' Him

Bryan Abasolo reaffirmed his request for substantial spousal support after Rachel Lindsay refused.

In a filing on Tuesday, July 2, Abasolo, 44, hit back at his ex-wife’s claims that he “doesn’t need” financial support amid their ongoing divorce. While Lindsay, 39, said Abasolo’s demands “are not supported by competent evidence and far exceed the actual marital lifestyle and needs” in a June 26 filing obtained by PEOPLE, the chiropractor insisted he needs support to maintain their ” marriage standard” of living.”

In a new filing obtained by PEOPLE, Abasolo says Lindsay “earned a very substantial income” during their four-year marriage and listed her proposed financial needs at $16,275 a month.

Abasolo claims that his monthly income is $1,341, and after paying expenses, “there is nothing left.” He also claims that after the couple moved to Los Angeles in 2021, his “net income was next to nothing,” and Lindsay was aware of that, “which is why she agreed to pay most of our living expenses until I could make regular contributions. ”

Abasolo also made several claims in the filing about the nature of his relationship with Lindsay, including that she “never showed any interest in [his] work” and that her “jetsetting career often took her away from our marital home while I stayed at home.”

He claims the ex-virgin wanted to “get him out of the way” and “not to be involved in ‘Hollywood,'” and would go so far as to “check him out” [him] to parties or events and then go with your industry friends.”

In addition, the chiropractor, who met Lindsay in the 21st season Bachelor in 2017 and married her in 2019, says he “discovered that Rachel was being unfaithful” while they were living in Dallas after the show aired, prompting him to “consider not continuing our marriage.”

In 2020, when she “took a job at Extra TV,” Abasolo further claims, “She gave me an ultimatum: either I move to California with her or the marriage is over.”

Abasolo says that by the time he filed for divorce on Jan. 2, he “no longer trusted Rachel and had endured years of her verbal manipulation,” as he described his experience in their relationship.

“The reality is that I was the one stuck at home and stuck at work with a woman who never wanted to be around me during our marriage,” Abasolo claims.

In Lindsay’s June 26 filing, when she objected to her ex-husband’s original request for spousal support and $75,000 in legal fees, she said he claimed he was making “less than he would make working at McDonalds,” based on his reported $16,000 annual income.

“Bryan claims he earns so little that if he worked 40 hours a week and received minimum wage in Los Angeles County, he would more than double his reported earnings,” her filing states.

Lindsay also claimed that Abasolo “refuses to leave [her] home,” for which she has “paid 100% of the mortgage, property taxes, home insurance, maintenance and repairs, utilities and care costs for our parts” since they split.

As for their “married standard of living”, she claimed it was “nowhere near as glamorous as Bryan portrays it”, and that the couple “rarely saw each other or even lived together during our short marriage”.
