In September 2022, Burak Deniz had an argument with Turkish actress Nilperi Sahinkaya and her lover Emre Yousufi at the Adana Sheraton Hotel in Turkey. Following the incident, a Turkish journalist named Bersin claimed that Burak should receive treatment for alcoholism because he had repeatedly misbehaved while drunk in the past. He claimed in an interview that on one occasion Burak Deniz hit a postman while driving a drunken bicycle. He said,
Blak Deniz should get treatment for alcoholism. This is not the first incident of alcohol abuse. He had previously driven a car drunk and knocked down a mailman on a bicycle. “
