The end of summer might be unpleasant, but Burger King has offers to soften the blow.
The fast-food chain is celebrating back-to-school by offering a free King Jr. meal. from August 12 to 25.
Many menu items are available to complement the main component of the package, sides, drinks and treats. Kids can choose between a double cheeseburger, 4-piece chicken nuggets, 6-piece chicken nuggets, a cheeseburger and a hamburger for the main meal. For their side, customers can choose fries, onion rings, Have-sies (a side dish consisting of half fries and half onion rings) or applesauce. In addition, a child’s meal includes a drink, such as apple juice or soda, and a treat in the form of a toy or chocolate chip cookie.
You don’t have to be a student to get this job. All reward members are eligible for a free King Jr. meal. when they buy $10.
On August 8, BK announced that their $5 meal would be available through October.
The $5 offer, first introduced June 10, consists of the customer’s choice of a Whopper Jr., Chicken Jr. or cheeseburger with bacon. Along with the sandwich, they get 4 chicken nuggets, fries and a soft drink.

“We’re going to extend that $5 meal your way now in October because we think it works perfectly for the business and we think customers love it,” Restaurant Brands International CEO Josh Kobza said during the earnings call.

Dairy Queen is also ready for back-to-school — they’re rolling out their fall Blizzard lineup. The ice cream chain has seven new Blizzards that harken back to sweater time, including favorite pumpkin options and a new coffee-inspired treat.

Caramel Java Chip Blizzard is a new frozen treat. Combines coffee, choco-espresso crunch pieces and caramel with soft serve ice cream.
Pumpkin Pie Blizzard is back on the menu. The fan favorite dessert is made with real pieces of pumpkin pie and soft serve and topped with nutmeg and whipped cream.
French silk pie Blizzard, Oreo fudge brownie Blizzard, Salted Caramel Truffle Blizzard, Reese’s Pieces Cookie Blizzard and Royal NY Cheesecake Blizzard are also part of Dairy Queen’s sweet fall selection.
