Michael Imperioli Is 'Jealous' He's Not Involved with White Lotus Season 3 but Can't Wait to See This Actor in It (Exclusive)

Michael Imperioli will not apply White lotus season 3, but it will definitely be included.

While promoting American Godfathers: Five Familiesof which he is the narrator and executive producer, Imperioli, 58, tells PEOPLE about the upcoming season of the dark comedy HBO series and whether or not he’ll be on board.

“I’m absolutely going to get involved,” the The Sopranos the star says of Season 3, which is set to premiere in 2025. “Of course, I was very jealous that I wasn’t in it, because it was such a magical time for that series and so fun and so rich.”

Imperioli starred in the second season White lotus as Dominic Di Grasso, a Hollywood producer who travels to Italy with his son and father. He was nominated for the 2023 Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance.

Imperioli also praises the show’s creator, Mike White.

“Mike White is just a darling of a human being and a genius with talent, you know, and it was idyllic, the whole experience,” he says. “So I hope this team, I’m sure they’ve experienced the same thing.”

The White lotus Season 3’s cast is currently expected to include Natasha Rothwell, Leslie Bibb, Dom Hetrakul, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan and Parker Posey — the latter of whom Imperioli is especially excited to watch.”You know, one of my favorite performers is Parker Posey into the new season, which I think is great,” he says. “It makes sense to have her in there White lotus. I can see that.”

While fans are waiting for more White lotusI can catch Imperioli narrating American Godfathers: Five Families. Documentary films, based on the book Five families by Selwyn Raab, is a deep dive into the history of the Mafia, stretching from its Sicilian roots in the 19th century to the present day.

Imperioli says the early days of the mob “always fascinated him.”

“The Italians were here [that] they were still very close to the immigrant experience and it was always very interesting to see how that developed from that experience,” he explains. “The transition between coming here, you know, newly arrived people and getting a foothold in a lot of different areas of work and things like that.”

The Emmy-winning actor also mentions that the documentary highlights how prohibition and bootlegging were the first major ways the mob was able to make money in America. “Prohibition gave them the landscape to create the empires that they did,” he says.

American Godfathers: Five Families kicks off with a three-night event August 11-13 at 8:00 PM ET on The History Channel.
