Busy Philipps on Her ‘Almost Nightly’ Bath Routine That Helps Her ‘Relax and Reset’ (Exclusive)

Busy Philipps likes to find time for swimming.

The Mean girls actress, 44, tells PEOPLE in last week’s issue that her idea of ​​a good night is a bubble bath.

“Well, I bathe regularly, almost every night if I can,” she says, adding, “I feel like it really helps me relax and get back into shape.”

For Philipps, Epsom salts and the right tunes are what make the perfect bath.

“I always use Epsom salts,” she continues. “And then, sometimes I listen to music, sometimes I read, and sometimes I just rest.”

When it comes to other guilty pleasures, Philipps admits to being “obsessed” with Netflix One day series.

“My older daughter and I watched the whole thing in one night and then the next morning,” she says of her 15-year-old child, Birdie Leigh, who she shares with her ex-husband, Marc Silverstein. The former spouses also share 10-year-old Cricket Pearl.

Philipps adds that she and Birdie “couldn’t stop” watching the romantic drama: “We were obsessed with it and then spent the rest of the afternoon sobbing.”

Despite enjoying emotional moments with her eldest, Philipps admits she is not exempt from the “mommy brain” experience.

“I think we all collectively have a post-pandemic mother’s brain,” says The Girls5Eva actress, adding, “I think the pandemic has given everyone a case of newborn mother brain. And now at this point, I don’t think it can be called mother brain anymore because I’m 44 years old.”

Instead, she says her “mom brain” is “more like ADHD, forgetfulness, trying to do too many things at once. And then forgetting… Luckily, I now have an assistant to help me stay on top of it.”
