Cadbury axes popular chocolate treat from shelves for good as shoppers rage ‘Christmas is ruined’

CADBURY has pulled the popular chocolate treat from its shelves for good as shoppers raged “Christmas is ruined”.

One customer took to X, formerly Twitter, to ask the confectionary giant about the lack of Festive Friends in stores.

They wrote: “@CadburyUK what’s going on with the festive friends this year. Can’t find them anywhere?

“Christmas is getting ruined and it’s only September…..furious. Ps don’t try to tell me that festive animals are ‘the same’…”

Another wrote: “@CadburyUK hi have you cut off festive friends?”

And Cadbury has confirmed that Festive Friends will not be returning this year.

A company spokesperson replied: “Hi. Our Cadbury Festive Friends are not returning this year, but don’t worry, we have our new Cadbury Festive Animals for you to try out.

“They’re the same Animal Biscuits you know and love, but with new festive shapes! We enjoy them best dipped in hot chocolate.”

Choccy fans took to social media to express their disappointment at the news.

One person said: “I’ve had festive friends since childhood. Getting rid of them is like getting rid of Santa Claus.

“Animal biscuits are darker biscuits compared to festive friends. They are also much smaller biscuits.

“They were the best item in the festive offering. Why did you choose these over the others?”

Cadbury fans cry out, bring back fan favorites as the brand makes a comeback

The chocolate giant has sold a wide variety of treats during its existence, but not all of their products are still on the shelves.

Many fans have been saddened by the discontinuation of production over the years as their favorite chocolates have disappeared from stores.

The latest saw its “nostalgic” Egg ‘n’ Spoon boxes disappear from shelves, with fans outraged at the news.

CULT CHOCOLATES THAT HAVE LEFT STORE SHELVES

Cadbury’s Dream Chocolate bar: The popular bar was discontinued in 2002 but relaunched in 2019 under the new name ‘Cadbury White’.

Mars Delight Bar: Although it proved to be a perennial favorite among candy lovers during its four-year run in stores starting in 2004, it was pulled from shelves by 2008. Fans are still waiting for the treat’s return.

Nestlé’s Caramac Bar: The unique bar has been in stores for more than six decades, but was discontinued last year due to a steady decline in sales.

Milky Way Crispy Rolls: They were pulled from shelves in 2022, and fans were so freaked out by the news that a petition was started for their return, which currently has more than 8,500 signatures.

White Maltesers: The white chocolate version of the popular snack enjoyed strong success for 11 years, but were discontinued in 2014 due to declining sales.

Launched more than ten years ago, Egg ‘n’ Spoons consisted of four chocolate eggs in a box filled with vanilla or chocolate mousse and even a special Oreo variant.

But Cadbury, owned by Mondelez, confirmed last year that the egg cartons that housed its spoon had been “discontinued to reflect the changing tastes of our fans”.

In preparation for Easter egg season this year, Cadbury still had to break the news to outraged fans on X.

Customers were also disheartened to realize that the iconic Cadbury Caramel bunnies were now a thing of the past.

The chocolates are made of smooth milk chocolate shaped in the shape of an adorable bunny and filled with soft caramel.

Cadbury has brutally shut down Britain’s sweet tooth after the company confirmed its “best” chocolate bar would not be making a comeback.

Fans were left heartbroken after the company revealed it had “no plans” to bring back the fan-favorite snack.

The Cadbury Dairy Milk Toffee Popcorn bar was first released in 2012, but since then fans have had a hard time finding it.

But it’s not all bad news as fans are being treated to a trip down memory lane to a Cadbury “graveyard” stocked with all their famous ax treats.

The mouth-watering collection of chocolates offers fans a chance to step back in time and reconnect with their retro favourites.
