Calista Flockhart admits she may have lost her cool when she first met Martin Short.
“I had a chance to spend some time with Martin and a few other friends. And I was completely blown away,” the 59-year-old actress tells PEOPLE in this week’s issue. “He’s wonderful and talented and I adore him from afar.”
Although she tried to keep her composure, Flockhart insists she had an “out-of-body” experience talking to Short.
“I stutter. I tell stupid jokes. I’m like an idiot. And then I go home and think for three days,” he explains. “I’m a bit shy at first. So I was a mess inside. I’m sure he went home and said, ‘Oh my God.’ ”

The last thing I do before bed is to cuddle and kiss my three dogs. Everyone is sleeping on the bed. As they should. We adopted dogs when my son was little. They are simply the best.
