Sharing a special message, the actors urged fans to vote yes Call the midwife at the upcoming National Television Awards to be held on Tuesday 5 September at the O2 Arena.
Earlier this month, it was confirmed that the BBC drama had received two nominations at the prestigious awards. The series is currently up for ‘Returning Drama’, while fan favorite Judy Parfitt – known as Sister Monica Joan – is nominated in the ‘Drama Performance’ category.

Along with the sweet video, the caption read: “The Turner family has a special message for you all… vote for Call the Midwife at the NTA Awards!!! Call the Midwife has made it into the final category of Comeback Drama nominations at the National Television Awards, and our the beloved Judy Parfitt (Sister Monica Joan) has also been shortlisted in the prestigious dramatic performance category!!
“But will we win? It’s entirely up to YOU! The last round of voting is open again for a very short time – but it will close very soon, so HURRY! Xx”

Sparking an immediate backlash from fans, many were quick to express their support. “Voted. Love the show. Had the pleasure of meeting Stephen McCann. Judy is fantastic as are all the cast. Good luck,” replied one. “Voted my favorite TV family of all time,” added another.
Meanwhile, a third wrote: “Call the Midwife is already a winner in my eyes” and a fourth commented: “Voted! Been a fan since day one. Best show on TV!”

While it’s unclear when the second half of season 13 will begin production, it won’t be too long until the cast and crew are back on set. Back in July, the show’s official Instagram account explained that they had a full schedule after the summer break.

Posting some behind-the-scenes photos, the title revealed: “When we come back we have the second half of series 13 to shoot, which will take us all the way to November. And then we start the countdown to Christmas!! The spirit on set is wonderful and the stories we’re filming are strong are also touching. We can’t wait to show you…”

Currently, the BBC has not yet confirmed a release date for Season 13 in 2024, but if previous seasons are counted, the new episodes will most likely premiere in January. However, what we do know is that the series will take place in 1969 and is expected to tell stories within the communities of Sylheti and Nigeria and from the docks.
