Cam Tait Death

Cam Tait, a former free-lance Tait on 8 columnist for The Edmonton Sun and a former identity and accessibility specialist at Canadian Western Bank, has unexpectedly died away.

According to sources, he was pronounced deceased on May 9, 2023, but the reason for his passing has not yet been made public. Similarly, Curtis Stock verified Cam Tait’s passing in a Facebook post that was published on May 10, 2023.

Many people who used to love and adore Cam Tait, a longtime employee of The Edmonton Sun, are devastated and brokenhearted as a result of his passing.

Cam Tait had Cerebral Palsy, a collection of impairments that severely limited his ability to move, balance, and maintain posture, before he passed away.

Cam Tait spent 35 years working for the Edmonton Journal, initially as a freelancer in 1979 and then as an employee beginning in 1985. While penning news articles, editorials, features, and essays, he frequently spoke out in favour of folks with disabilities.

Cam was a cerebral palsy sufferer who generously gave back to his society because he saw the suffering of other disadvantaged people.

When Cam first started working at the Journal, he also contributed to Tait Talk articles for K-97 and wheelchair sports reports for 1260 CFRN.

The Canadian Sports Federation nominated him for the prize for best journalist of the year after only a few years. In 2014, Tait moved to the Edmonton Sun, where he continued to write his Tait on 8 column until his passing.

Cam was also committed to helping his fellow Edmontonians who were in need. For four years, he served as the Executive Producer of the ATCO Edmonton Charity Auction of Sun Christmas, which helped raise much-needed money for neighbourhood organisations.
