DJ Tanner and Kimmy Gibbler are the true definition of BFFs.
In a recent episode How rude, Tanneritos! — a Full house recap podcast hosted by Jodie Sweetin, who played Stephanie Tanner, and Andrea Barber, who portrayed Gibbler — another star from the beloved sitcom jumped in.
Candace Cameron Bure took over hosting duties for Sweetin while she traveled, and during the episode, Bure and Barber discussed how their friendship transcended television and continued for decades off-screen.
The pair greeted each other: “Hi DJ! Hi Kimmy!” laughing as Cameron Bure asked, “Does everyone know we call each other Kimmy and DJ?”

“Every time we see each other,” Cameron Bure confirmed, then explained how their friendly tradition was noticed by a fellow ’90s actor during their appearance at ’90s Con.
“Jaleel White, who, of course, played Urkel, was there and … he stopped and said, ‘Whoa, what? Did you guys really just call each other by your characters’ names?’ ”
