Car mounts pavement and hits three schoolgirls before driving off in shocking hit-and-run

THREE teenage girls were seriously injured after a horrific hit and run.

The shocking incident took place on September 10, 2024 at around 4:30 p.m. when the injured young men were walking on the sidewalk.

The terrifying hit and run happened on Whitelow Road in Heaton Moor, Stockport.

Initial reports suggest that the car, which was traveling at high speed, swerved onto the road to avoid an oncoming vehicle and hit the girls.

The teenagers were rushed to hospital with serious leg injuries that will require surgery.

Sergeant Paul Lunt, of Greater Manchester Police, said: “The victims were walking on the pavement when the car hit the pavement and collided with them, causing them serious injuries before driving away, leaving the girls injured by the side of the road. “

He added: “There were a number of people at the scene, either passing by or near Whitelow Road.

“We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident or who may have dashcam footage, CCTV or doorbell footage of a silver VW Golf driving through the area between 4.15pm-4.45pm.

“After the collision, the VW Golf had a smashed windscreen, so it should be quite recognizable.”

Police are urging anyone with information or footage to come forward.
