Cara Delevingne’s L.A. Home Was an Homage to Her ‘Mad, Crazy Ideas’ with Secret Rooms and a ‘Vagina Tunnel’

Cara Delevingne’s Los Angeles home, which was heavily damaged in a massive fire on Friday, was a tribute to her eccentric ideas and eclectic style.

The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed to PEOPLE that the residence suffered a massive fire that took 94 firefighters more than 2 hours to extinguish and caused the roof of the residence to collapse.

Delevingne was in London when the fire broke out.

The 6,650-square-foot studio, City, Calif., home was a highly personalized retreat for the model and actress, featuring blue art, designer gifts, rare memorabilia and more than a few unique customization items.

She showed it in the attachment from 2021 Architectural Digest, describing it in a video tour as a space where he can show off all his “crazy, crazy ideas.” She designed the home with architect Nicoló Bini and explains of her collaborator: “If I were Alice in Wonderland, he would be the Mad Hatter.”

Some of the highlights of her tour, above, included two of the home’s most intimate spaces. The first is a padded pink passageway, through which you can crawl between rooms, which Delevingne calls the “vaginal tunnel.”

The entrance is hidden between a paneled wall in the living room, and the footage shows Delevingne emerging from a fake washing machine at the other end, announcing that she is “reborn and cleansed.”

“I come here to think. I come here to create,” she explains.

Another headline-grabbing hideaway, Delevingne calls the “p—y palace.” A pink fabric-lined room behind another secret door contains a stripper pole, a swing, and lots of tufted pillows.

Elsewhere, there are slightly more conventional but still eye-catching touches, including James Turrell artwork, two Gucci wallpapers, a Chanel surfboard and David Bowie’s signature guitar. There is also a “shrine” of rockers in one bathroom and elsewhere, a poker room inspired by David Lynch.

“The meaning I get from this house is to never grow up,” she tells the outlet. “I always just maintain a kind of childlike innocence or joy or just a need to be entertained.”

While most of the home’s contents were likely damaged or destroyed in the fire, two very important residents were saved: Delevingne’s cats.

After initially posting a photo of her pets with a heartbroken emoji when she seemingly thought they might be lost, she shared the news Friday afternoon that they had both been rescued and were alive and well.

The star took to social media to share her gratitude to those who responded to the emergency. “Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the firefighters and people who showed up to help,” she wrote on her Instagram Story.

The fire initially consumed one room in the rear of the home and “developed into a deep-seated attic fire,” the LAFD said in a statement Friday.

“Crews confirmed that all occupants had exited the home and then returned to defensive mode due to the prolonged duration of the heavy fire which exposed structural elements,” the statement continued.

The roof of the house collapsed, while firefighters extinguished the flames with hoses from the outside.

One unidentified resident suffered minor smoke inhalation, and one firefighter was transported from the home after falling from a ladder, the fire department confirmed. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

A representative for Delevingne did not respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment Friday morning.
