Cardi B Claps Back at Social Media User Criticizing Her Gym Videos After Getting Plastic Surgery

Cardi B is clapping back at people who have a problem with her going to the gym.

On Tuesday, the 31-year-old rapper responded to a social media user who criticized her and other celebrities who have had plastic surgery and then post videos of themselves at the gym, questioning their commitment to actually working out.

“I hate influencers who do that. Make all the surgeries act like they’re really in the gym, and if they really gain weight, they’ll just go for surgery again, smh,” one woman wrote on X, formerly Twitter, alongside a video of the star in the gym.

Cardi later responded, “How loud have I been about my actions??? The thing is I’m not gaining much weight so I’m trying to gain MUSCLE because it’s hard for me to maintain fat…there’s also something called visceral fat…It’s fat that grows under the muscles and you can’t just lipo it what you can do is get rid of it! ”

“WHY YOU SEE POUCHES ON LIPO GIRLS. YOU HAVE TO MAINTAIN IT!” added the Grammy winner.

According to the Mayo Clinic, visceral fat is “abdominal fat that accumulates in your abdomen in the spaces between your organs. Too much visceral fat is strongly associated with a higher risk of serious health problems.”

In 2019, Cardi — who has been transparent about plastic surgery over the years — vowed to start working out more to maintain her figure after a difficult recovery from the procedure at the time.

This also isn’t the first time Cardi has had to explain why she goes to the gym.

Back in April, the “I Like It” singer posted a video on TikTok sharing her stretching routine. She did this after working out with a personal trainer at the gym, and her regimen included squats, rope exercises, weights, pull-ups and medicine ball exercises.

Discussing why she works out, the rapper said, “A lot of people don’t know why you work out, you have liposuction, but there’s this thing called visceral fat.”

“Visceral fat is the fat that surrounds your organs that you can’t lipopose, and that’s why sometimes girls with lipolytic fat can have a bitten waist with guts, and that’s because they don’t work out their visceral fat – they just keep eating and eating and their waists are small, but they still got bellies,” she continued. “That’s why you have to solve it.”

“And I want toned thighs, and you can’t buy toned thighs,” Cardi added.
